Because the "other" tag is a broad search and isn't an exact genre I decided it would be unfair to put a top 3 for the year so far for this category

Year of the Snitch is the sixth studio album by experimental hip hop group Death Grips, released on June 22, 2018, through Third Worlds and Harvest Records.
Year Of The Snitch feels totally alien. It is an exhilarating release that doesn’t let up, and proves that six years on the group are still a force to be reckoned with. To put it simply, Death Grips have never been afraid of pushing ever boundary around them, and Year Of The Snitch is no different. Year of the Snitch elicits the same anxiety-ridden feeling as having two dozen browser windows open at the same time. In its sensory overload, its embrace of ugliness and beauty, of chaos and calm, of proficiency and slackness, and its willingness to by turns troll and impress the listener, it reflects the complicated, frustrating nature of the Internet in 2018.

You Won't Get What You Want is the fourth studio album by American rock band Daughters. It was released on October 26, 2018, through Ipecac Recordings.
"You Won't Get What You Want" is one of the most terrifying yet intriguing things I've ever heard. If I were to paint an image of myself listening to this loud rock experimental project it would have me and my ears in complete pain while another figure that is myself enjoys a bag of popcorn and watches. Tis project made you feel so scared to find out what was going to happen in the next seconds of a song but yet so intrigued like as if you were peeping through your hands during a horror movie. There are a few songs that I would not listen to on this album regularly because at some point the popcorn runs out and Its just becomes loud and nothing more. Overall a fantastic yet beyond horrifying album

God's Favorite Customer (or Mr Tillman's Wild Ride) is the fourth studio album by American musician Josh Tillman under the stage name Father John Misty. It was released by Sub Pop and Bella Union on June 1, 2018. The album was primarily produced by Tillman himself and Jonathan Rado, alongside a variety of collaborators including previous engineers Trevor Spencer and Dave Cerminara, with further production contributions by Tillman's long-time producer Jonathan Wilson. It also features a variety of musical collaborators, including The Haxan Cloak, Mark Ronson, Weyes Blood, and members of Tillman's touring band.
There's enough variety mixed in to keep the instrumentals fresh, with luxurious string passages, warm organ swells, overdriven guitar riffs, some harmonica and even a fuzzed-out synth tone. With material this timeless, it’s no wonder Tillman has wide enough appeal to co-headline the Hollywood Bowl: Classic-rock oldsters and the Pitchfork generation can both hold him up as a gold standard. An album this good is its own happy ending.

Heaven and Earth is the third studio album by American jazz saxophonist Kamasi Washington. It was released on June 22, 2018, through Young Turks Recordings.
Heaven and Earth is a lengthy album, and one that refuses to shortchange the listener. There is a wealth of ideas on the table here. It takes a musician, composer, and arranger of Washington's caliber to take these ideas and form them into a brilliant collection of performances. With its forward-thinking, deep-searching nature counterbalanced by a natural warmth and populist, groove-heavy approach, it’s another hugely accomplished work by a man whose prolific run of form shows no signs of abating.
